Passport Question

I still have my MaidenName in my german Passport so my question is..do I get any problems re-enter the US, because on my greenCard in my name by Marriage. The German embassy told me I should take my marriage registry with me in case of questions because I don't have time to sent my passport in to get the change done in time before leaving to germany in 6 weeks. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Passport with maiden name should not pose any problem. Technically you don't need passport for re-entry into USA (but for traveling you need passport in other countries anyway - including your origin country Germany). Just green card should work. But just be safe, it's better to keep marriage registry and your US drivers license with you. I don't anticipate any problem in US POE, but if you have transit, airlines personnels can raise eyebrow - seeing different names in passport and green card.
