Hello Everyone!!

We have the AOS Interview on Feb 23,2006. I am an Indian citizen and my husband's a US Citizen. My passport still has my maiden name with the I-94. My SSN and bank accounts and all has my marreid name. Does anyone know if I should change the my maiden name to married one in the passport? I am in Dallas and the Indian embassy is in houston and I am just scared to send all the origianl passport (both mine and my husband's) plus the original marriage certificate thru mail. What if i don't get it back in time or what if something gets lost..any suggestions? I know it might be dumb question but just getting paranoid before the interview.

Thank you so very much for the help and information!!

PS: the lawyer said the name change on passport is not important as is the I-94 attached to it.

Meers,

Your profile shows that you are now waiting for your Green Card, and why you have another AOS Interview on Feb 23,2006 ?

meers, that question has been answered several times in this forum, make a search.
There is no need to change your maiden name in your passport to your married name, it is understandable and the proof of it is your marriage certificate. For reasons of travel, just carry with you a copy of your marriage certificate and then later on you can change your name in your passport with calm.
Good luck,

Thank you Cherr.. I am sorry about not searching the forum properly.. but was kind of panicking..but thank you so much for the response! I really appreciate it!

Wenxing..I do not have my Greencard yet..I dont know why my profile is showing that i already have it
