Folks,
I applied expedited for US passport. The check got cashed last week - but it the status is still not showing up online. Anybody else has similar issue?
Please respond.
 
It takes a week or two to show up. Many folks (who have expedited their application) report that they get the passport about the same time it shows up on the web site.

For one of our passports, the first notice on the web site said that it had been processed and shipped and that it was due to arrive that day. I went home and it had arrived.

Don't worry.
 
Can you track the procesing of your passport if you apply for just regualr service? Today i asked the post office how long would the processing take and surprisingly they said: 3-5 weeks expedited and 12-15 weeks regular. How could that be? i know its the travel season and there is an increase number of naturalizations but i think that they sometimes exaggerate.
 
Because of the passport rule changes (you now need a passport to travel by air to Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean - you didn't before this year), the passport office has fallen behind on processing.
 
I think in general they always say longer than what the passport would take. A friend of mine received his passport in 2-3 weeks only regular service not long time a go.
