Passport form question

Hi All,

OK, call me anally retentive but I like to have things exact and correct.

I have downloaded the Passport application PDF and am filling it out. I was about to print it and that prompted this question.

Do I print it double sided as in page-1 on the front and page-2 on the back, or do I print it as two separate pages?

Thanks

I suggest you fill out their online application instead of the downloaded PDF. Difference is, they encode all the information on the generated pdf thats scanned when you send it it - possibly making it faster for them to process and eliminate any typing errors.

And forget saving trees and print page 1 as one page and page 2 as separate page - no double sided.

Thanks Abs, I looked at doing that but wondered if they required a Citizen Certificate number and that's why I downloaded the print one.

I do not get CC until the Oath next week and I want to lodge the application the Oath day so I am getting the form ready.

Do you remember if they ask for the CC number in the online thing?

I dont remember them asking Nat number. Reason being, I think, is that there are other ways you can get passport (birth cert, consulate report etc).

But the reason I didnt fill online before Oath is, that I wasnt citizen until I take Oath, and didnt want to give any room for error by filling out online passport application. So you may be on track by filling out paper form.

Thanks Abs, I suspect the online method and the paper one are probably the same questions. If they do not ask for a CC number then I will give online a try too.

Since the online one is printed out to accompany the CC for the application, I am guessing it should be OK as I will not be submitting it until after the Oath.

Visit me in Prison? :D :D :D :D

I'll ask the question on the Citizenship forum. I bet I am not the first person to ask either. :)

What is the difference between filling out the form on-line and filling it out locally on one's computer? As I understand it, the on-line form generates the printable PDF. So, why should it matter?

The form generated by the on-line questionnaire encodes some (or maybe all) of the entries in a two dimensional barcode that is included on the form.

And the online wizard will tell you clearly what is required information and what is optional. You will be amazed about how little information they need to process your passport (atleast I was).

Once they get such app with barcode encoded, all they have to do is to point scanner and beep..your info is on their system. No more having to look at your paper and type info into their system, there by reducing work for them and any associated data entry mistakes.

Ok, thanks. I hope I will not have to use this on-line form in the next 10 years though ;)
