Passport expiring in December, Just received "Documents Received" email from KCC. Should I unlock my DS after renewing my passport?

My passport is expiring in December and I just received the "Documents Received" email after submitting DS-260 and subsequently sending all my docs to KCC. My case no. is 2022AS00012***. In your experience should I ask to unlock my DS-260 after getting a new passport? Should I renew it in due time or asap?
