Passport expiring within 6 months of H1 stamping date? - then read this
my passport had an expiry date in aug '05 - roughly 8 months after my h1 stamping interview and intended date of entry in US.
i successfully got it done from toronto. i checked with the consulate officer who told me that the rule says - the passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of h1 stamping AND the actual date when you land in the US.
mine was and i completed all formalities without any hassles.
