passport expired before Citizenship interview

We have Citizenship interview at the end of Mar'2013.. my wife passport got expired, by end of Feb'2013 it will be 6 months.

Can we go to Citizenship interview with expiration passport?
OR
send to consulate for renewal and wait until passport renewal completed and go to interview?


Can you please share your experiences OR thoughts?

Bring the expired passport to the interview, and it won't be a problem. Green card holders are not required by the US to maintain a valid passport.

Old passport can be asked for at interview to double check travel dates.No problem if passport has expired.
