Passport expiration !!!!

I have got the I-485 approved. I haven't received the approval notice yet. In the meantime, I have this question for you folks.

My passport expires in Dec 2003. How can I get it renewed from here. Is there any place within US to which I can send and get it renewed or should I send it to India for renewal.

Your help is very much appreciated.

You can always

renew it at your Indian Consulate. If you do not have one in your city you can do it by mail. I have done it and their service is pretty good. All consulates have a web site. Just do a search for "Indian consulate"

you should be able to renew it here in us at one of the consulates. call the one that has the jurisdiction to the place you live in (not sure if india consulate has this jurisdiction thingy). mail them your passport with paid express mail for them to return your pp to you and you should get it back in 3-4 weeks.

You say your passport expires in Dec 2003. It is too early to worry about it. It just takes 3 weeks. If you want it faster than 3 weeks, go submit in person and you will get it in mail in a week.

Depending on your home address, you could mail your passport to either NYC, Chicago, San Fransico, DC or Houston.

I'm in Nebraska and the jurisdiction falls under SanFransisco area.

I'm thinking of sending it after I get the I-485 stamping (I got the approval letter today only).
