Passport Expiration and H1- Revalidation at the consulate

I just had a quick question.

My passport is going to expire in Feb 2008.

I am going to go to either India or Canada for my Revalidation sometime in March or April 2007.

Is my passport validity going to be an issue?

I read somewhere that the apssport has to be valid between 6 months to 12 months?

The india embassy will only renew the passport if it is going to expire in next 6 months.

Can nay one explain the passport validity stuff for H1- Validation??

Should not be a problem for you. You are recommended to have passport valid for at least six months beyond your interview date.

I was aware of that. I was looking at the VFS website for US consulate at Mumbai and they said passport validity 6 - 12 Months

let me know? what it means
