Hi everyone,
I will be taking my oath next week and wanted to find out about people's experience with the passport application procedure.
1)What is the fee?
2)How long does it take?
3)Do they give you a form to fill out there or can i fill out one ahead of time.
4)Do I have to carry additional photos?
Thanks

Answers are available here at http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html It is very simple. processing times is faster than you think. You can download the form at the provided link. You can't fill out until you become a US citizen and get a US naturalization certificate. Make sure to photocopy the US naturalization certificate before you bring your original certificate to submit along with passport form. They will return your original US naturalization certificate along new passport. Hope this helps.

go to www.state.gov select "passports" option at the bottom of the page and fill online application with details, print it and do not sign the application. After form is completed online, it will show what is the fee based on options (Passport book and card, or passport book only, or passport card only). This can be done prior to oath.
get two passport size photographs.
After the oath, get a copy of certificate (if possible, get notarized, in a bank etc) and go to nearest post office that accepts passport application(s).
At the post office, when passport application is accepted, they will ask you to sign the application. You may need to present balid state issued ID (like driver license) in addition to naturalization certificate.
Sounds lot of steps but, it is simple.
