If you have an appointment (not walk-in), maybe an hour. The first half hour (or more) will be waiting since you are never called at the exact time, but get a queue number based on when you entered the building (this for SFO). Once you are at the window, another 5-10 minutes max.
I t took me 2 days.
4 hrs waiting to file the first day, afternoon, and all day waiting the second day, passport was promised for 11am finally got it at 5:30pm.
