Parole & H1B confusion for family-based app

My I-485 is pending (Family-based). I am still on H1B that is valid for another 2 years. I am working right now on H1. I also have EAD but I haven't used it yet.

Last year I applied for parole, and I travelled. I knew that I didn't need it, but to be on the safe side I applied for it. To my surprise, at newark airport, they asked for advance parole doc eventhough my H1 was valid. According to them if you applied for AOS, you are no longer on H1 and you MUST use your EAD. Strange! The rules are not consistent.

This year I intend to travel again. However, because of time deadlines and non-emergency nature of travel, I won't be able to get parole in time. So, I am planning to go without parole. This time I will keep the I-131 application with me which clearly states that I don't need parole doc.

The only concern I have now is that, on my I-94 (last time) they stamped it as "Parole" and not H1. Is this going to complicate my re-entry? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
