Hi,

I want my parents to come over and be with me during my delivery. I would be applying for my parents visitors visa soon. My husband would be sponsoring for their visit. I have a couple of queries, any input on these would be appreciated. Thanks

1.My father's name has always been 'Krishna' only, he never had any intials or any surname in his school certifiacte, jobs, bank, property documents. And the same appeared in his passport too. He visited UK with the same passport, but later we realised since he doesnt have a last name it might cause a problem while visiting US, so he made an affidavit and added his father's name and changed his name in passport to 'Krishna Ram Setty'. But hasnt changed the name in all other documents like bank, property papers etc. He has both the new and the cancelled old passport with him and a xerox copy of the name change affidavit. Is this enough to convince that both names are of same person or do we have to get another affidavit done??

2. My birth certificate has my name as 'K. Dost' but the name in my passport is 'Dost Krishna' Is this ok?

3. My birth certificate has my father's name as 'Krishna' and now his name in passport is 'Krishna Ram Setty' and also my mother's name in the birth certificate has an missing 'h' in her name. Is this ok?

4. My mother's passport has my father's name in her spouse's name as 'Krishna' only. But now his new passport has 'Krishna Ram Setty'. So while filling her visa application form, in her spouse's name column should i write 'Krishna' as mentioned in her passport or should i write 'Krishna Ram Setty' as mentioned in his new passport?? Confused....??

5. My mother's name in passport has all her name and initials expanded in Given name itself and the surname is left blank... While filling the visa application should i write NA for her surname????

Apply for your parents with the name specified in the passport. Don't worry to much about birth certificate, property document etc.

I think but putting all the names in an affidavit should be fine. Produce it to the visa officer when asked, don't submit it or show then in advance.

They didn't asked any documents from my parents. But you may want to confirm from someone else too... Good Luck!
