My Parents applied for a tourist visa in Mumbai consulate twice and they got rejected both times. First time they applied in September 2006 and Seconf in Oct 2006.

MY Parents have 2 sons, both in US. I have a work permit, my brother is on an H1. My father has his business. No other kids in india.

I sent all my supporting docs and my sponsership papers.

My father took all this Property docs, Tax papers, Business property papers, Bank statements.

The Officer in Mumbai Consulate didn't even look at the papers.

They started off asking these questions:

(1) What do you do?
(2) HOw many childrens? where are they? what's their status? what do they do?
(3) They just looked at my passport copy

The Officer said that you have already been REJECTED Once. The reason was "YOU DON"T HAVE A STRONG FAMILY TIE IN INDIA".

What SHOULD We do in this case?
What more proof should be provide?

My MOTHER finally also requested Officer to NOT give Visa to my Father, INSTEAD just give to me so then She can come here and visit her sons for few months.

MY Parents want to visit us and they haven't been here at all.

PLEASE ADVICE!! Appretiate all your help with this!

why hurry ?

I wonder how you have got two consecutive appointments. That might have added suspicious too alongwith missing strong family ties. Didn't anyone tell you to wait for sometime before applying 2nd time ?

I think if you apply again for your mom alone next time. But her two times rejection might add some risks to that.

Hi asnssf:

Well actually the Second appt which i got earlier was sometime in Jan next year. But after i saw a news that appts are not being available very soon, i tried to re-schedule it. And i managed to get it the next month.

I was planning to take an appt just for my mother seperately. But at the end of the second interview my mother asked the officer, if they can just give to visa to one of the parent, so then they would have a string family tie and the single parent would return back. Even this did not help.

Any suggestions pls?

Interview is the key

I am not sure what will be the VO's response in the interview. But if you can, wait for some more time (3-4 months) before applying 3rd time unless you are in a hurry.

check in path2usa, you get more response from viewers than here..

Parents visitor visa rejected twice in mumbai consulate

Hi,

Today my parents visitor visa was rejected 2nd time under section 214(b) at the Mumbai consulate.

Sorry for the lengthy note.. but below was the situation.

I have a brother who is married and works in Mumbai. Me and my husband are in US and want to invite my parents for a visit.

1) During the first interview (May 16 '06)my brother was on a 10 day business visit to moscow. My parents told the consular about it. I think the consular thought that he lives in moscow. Their visa was rejected under section 214(b) then.

2) The 2nd time, (Nov 6 '06) the consular himself asked a question about my brother and asked whether he is in Russia. My parents replied - "No he lives in Mumbai with us. He was on a 10 day business visit to moscow last time. He stays in Mumbai"

The consular heard the answer and again gave the 214(b) form to my parents and " asked them to re-apply". The only other question asked was about my parents yearly income which they answered. They had all the property and investments docs with them. They have sufficient investments here. But the consular did not look at any document.

1) What should I do ? When should I reapply ?

2) Is there a concept of applying by mail if it is the 3rd attempt ?

3) Right now the appointment dates are within one week. But I am scared to reapply.

4) How should I correct the Moscow factor now ?

I want my parents to come and visit us..Any information will be of great help.....Pls advice...

Hi

Here is your problem

The Officer said that you have already been REJECTED Once. The reason was "YOU DON"T HAVE A STRONG FAMILY TIE IN INDIA".

So unless either you or sibling return to home country, your parents will NEVER be able to prove strong family ties to homeland

The only suggestion I have is ONLY ONE parent applies for visa then they CAN show strong family ties to home country

To be honest I doubt you would get parents approved unless their/your situation changes
