Hello Everyone,

My parents had AOS interviews in Bloomington, MN their cases are approved. :)

Interview was painless and very short. We used the lawyer services mainly for documentation check before submitting and for the interview preparation. But I must say this forum was very helpful to me from the beginning of the whole application process (from the cover letters , completing the forms, RFE questions)...A very big thanks to needurhelp, jenimmi, ari4u, Jonnycash, Dr_ilha, sarrebal, stranger_26 and others for your input in this forum. Your posts were very helpful to me...

My folks had interview. It was very simple...got there early.. the officer called both and interviewed them at the same time.

Questions to my Mom:
What is your full name?
Any other lastnames you had in past?
What is your date of birth?
What is your current address?
When did you enter US ?
Is this your first visit?
Where did you enter US this time? (POE)
What are your children's' names?

Questions to my Dad:
What is your full name?
What is your date of birth?
What is your current address?
When did you enter US ?
Is this your first visit?
Where did you enter US this time? (POE)
What are your children's' names?

Questions for me:
Where do you work?
What do you do there?

That's it. No documents were checked other than our passports.. Officer told us my parents name checks were cleared and he will approve the cases by the end of the day and we should receive the greencard in the mail very soon. He forgot to take my parents 1-94's. I checked with my lawyer about this soon after we were done with interview and lawyer said it is ok - nothing to worry. (hope it is fine..) Last night we received two emails stating (for mom and dad) -

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR
ORPHAN

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

we mailed you a notice that we have approved this
I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please
follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the
notice, call customer service.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR
TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

we mailed you a notice that we had registered
this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any
instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed
within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT
processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If
you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also

kab9111, Yes, my parents were here on visitor's visa.

Thanks IP ,for your valuable in put.

I'm in a similar situation .My parents are here in US ON visit visa for 6 months .I'm a USC .I want to file for my parents immigration ASAP. I was going thru the possible options and one of them CP and other to file I 130 and 485 simultaneously so that they won't have to leave .

Ifyou can plz advise me which one is faster and with less difficulties.

Didn't your parents were questioned that they applied for immigration on temprory visit visa? is it legal to do so?

Did you file the case thru a lawyer or you did it you self?

were you present at the time of interview ?

plz i'll be really thankfull to you if you can answer in detail as you can well understand my situation.

is it possible that i can talk to you personally on phone .?

CONGRATS on your success.it must be a great relief to be over with the process.

THANKS AGAIN

Congratulations.

I am also in process of sponsoring my parents for GC.

I didn't realize that the petitioner need to be interviewed as well? My parents and I live in different states. Will USCIS accomodate 2 separate interviws or do I need to fly to one location?

I thought it was a must for the petitioner to be present for the interview.
(atleast, this is what I was told...)
