Parents got Visa in Chennai

Hello All,
My mother had a visitor visa appointment on Aug 20 in Chennai. My father is 61 so didnot take appointment for him(that proved to be wrong).The interviewer advised her to take both appontments together. The inetrview was fairly easy.
She was asked how many children she had,what is the income/pension,what is the purpose of Dubai visit (my sister lives there).She did learn from one other parents that last time their visa got rejected because they told about pregnancy.This time they got approved.
I was a bit worried about this and it got approved easily.So if all the docs are present(they didnot even check it properly) the visa will be issued.We as yet dont know for how many months.They have taken the passport and have promised to courier it.

Please let us know the duration (months) of their visa. My parents have an interview on October 1st. Keeping my fingers crossed. Also sould you let me know what are the documents that you sent as a sponsor and what documents did they carry as a visitor.

The documents sent by us were :

1. Notarized Affidavit of Support ( I-134 )
2. Covering Letter to the Consulate
3. Invitation Letter to Parents
4. Passport Copies
5. Marriage Certificate
6. Birth Certificates
7. Bank Statements of last 3 months
8. Copies of Green Card
9. Salary Stubs for last 3 months
10. Tax Forms for years 2000,2001 and 2002
11. Chennai Appointment details including the Receipt No
12. Sample DS-156 Form
13. Employment Verification Letter
14. Bank Account Verification Letter

Documents needed from them :

1.Passport and 1 Copy (incl blank pages)
2.DS – 156 Form (Sample is sent)
3.2 Photographs with proper specification (write your name and passport no on the back of the photos in pencil)
4.Demand Draft of Rs 4900 payable to US Consulate General, Chennai from a nationalized bank (no co-operative banks)
5.Demand Draft of Rs 3675 payable to US Consulate General, Chennai from a nationalized bank (no co-operative banks)
6.Cash or Demand Draft of Rs 300 in favor of T .T Services, Chennai
7.Proof of Property(Original Ownership papers) and Property Estimate from a CA
8.Income Tax from last 3 years (atleast 2 years reqd)
9.Bank Balance for last 6 months(Simple bank letters showing only bank balance is not acceptable so please take the Passbook)
10. Fixed deposit papers from Banks or post office
11.Stocks and Shares documents
12. Personal letters written to you from relatives
13.Ration Card (if required)
14.Voter’s Registration card (if available, not mandatory)

Though Ration card and voter's registration card maynot be needed, we just wanted them to carry it. If earning pension, then docs to prove that.
The duration is not yet known.Have to wait for the consulate to courier back the passports.

My mother got 1 year multiple entry visa. My father will put the docs in drop box today.I will let you know how long a visa he will get.
