Dear friends:
my friend's mom got very serious illness, she let me ask your guys if she could go back to see her mom. this may be the last time to see her mom. she is very upset .she was approved aslyee on 2003. she still waiting for GC. what kind of documents do she need from hospital in her home country? what are the procedures to see her mom? any ideas? need the help!! thanks so much

I think what you need to determine first is IF your friend can enter the home country with a Refugee Travel Document. Most of the countries know that RTD is used for "stateless" individuals so he/she shows up at the consulate for a visa..will they grant him/her a visa?

Your friend could use his/her National Passport but will the home country allow them to leave? If you have to use a National Passport, they should apply for an Advanced Parole which is a document that says that the person can enter the USA.

When they come back, bring back, copy of all the hospital records and if possible, get a Notarized Statement from the doctor stating that the realtive was sick
