Parents Giving up GC

My parents are Green Card holders, now they want to give up their GC as they cannot stay here, But they want the option of visiting me every few years.
My Guess would be that they should get Travel visa without any issues...has anyone experienced this?
Will i need to send supporting papers for visitors visa?
