My brother, a US citizen, has filed for our parent's green card. Our parent's are currently in the US on a temporary visa. Since our parent's original birth certificates are not available, an Indian Consulate issued birth certificate was submitted at the time of the immigration petition. These were not accepted and we received an RFE for the birth certificates.
I understand that instead of the original birth certificate a non-availability certificate from the local government and two sworn affidavits from relatives can be submitted. We can get the non-availability certificates. However, our parent's are old, and at this time we cannot trace any relatives who were present during their birth.
If anyone has been in a similar situation, please share your experience. Any advice from the experts on the board?.
Thanks
