Hello everyone,

My mother-in-law who has a valid B-2 visa (10 year visa issued in 2001) is planning to visit the US to help during my wife's pregnancy.
My wife and I are now GC holders.

What are the documents my mother-in-law needs to be able to visit us? She has visited us twice in the past - 2000, 2001.

I recall that back in 2001 (when I was on H-1) I had filled out a I-134, affidavit of support so that she could come here. I may have also provided her a copy of my bank statement etc for her to get the visa. In addition, I also sent her a letter from my employer confirming my employment status.

Since she already has a multiple entry visa do I have to provide similar paperwork this time or is any paperwork unnecessary?

Also my mother-in-law got a new passport in India a few months ago. However, the visa stamp is on the old passport. Does my mother-in-law need a new visa stamp on the new passport.

Would appreciate your input on this. Thanks in advance

She does not need the new visa in new passport, but needs to carry both passports together.

You dont need to send any paperwork
