Hello and Congratulations to all of you who has already received your Visas.

I'm from Panama, Central America. I receive the first KCC letter back in April 23, 2007 (My birthday). I sent the documents back to KCC the first week of May, but I did not received a notification that the KCC got the documents. I'm waiting for the second letter that states the date for the interview and I'm a little worry 'cause the interviews began on October.

My question is: Does everybody is supposed to receive a notification from the KCC after they received the forms back and before they send you the second letter for the interview?

I don't think you get a notification unless you are already in the US and request AOS. I didn't receive a notification from KCC, I just received the second letter two months or so before the interview. However, you can always call KCC and ask what your status is.

You need to look at your case number. Your case number pretty much determines when your interview will be. You can check the current numbers oiin the visa bulletin: http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_1770.html (it usually is published around the 15th of the month before). In theory you are supposed to have the interview in the month in which your number is below the one listed for your region (this means that your number is current) (sometimes it is 1 or 2months later). As soon as you see that your number will be current in the advanced notification section of the visa bulletin, you can send KCC an email and ask whether there has already been an interview scheduled for you. If this is the case, they will tell you the date (you have to include your case number, your name and your date of birth in the email). You will receive the second package about 4-6weeks prior to the interview, however, sometimes it comes later, therefore it's best when you ask KCC when your interview is.

Wao, you guys are so helpful. Thank you very much. Now I have an idea and according to my CN the interview might be between January and February 2008.

My country is very small and only 17 persons won the lottery, so is really hard for me to get any information about the visa process. But through this forum I have learned so much. Kudos to the creator of such helpful tool and to everybody willing to share their knowledge and experience.
