Paid vacation while awaiting EAD?
My EAD has expired (yesterday) and my H1 expires on 11/22/02.
Since Dallas does not issue Interim EAD's, My lawyer suggested not to do anything, just let the H1 expire and wait for the EAD renewal to be approved. He said I could continue to work in the meantime (even without EAD!). He didn't think it would be a problem since my EAD renewal is in process.
What do you guys think? My feeling is that if I don't get my EAD before 11/22 when the H1 expires, I will take a week's (or two weeks) PAID vacation, so technically I am not working even though I am on the company's payroll.
