Packet after CP interview - question

Hi All,

I have a question abt the packet that one recieves after CP interview. Is there any time limit on it, as to within how much time ( I mean, how soon) we need to be in US after recieving this packet. Or is there no limit to it.

6 months from the date you have been approved GC , if i remmeber correct

The DS-230 immigrant visa is only valid for 6 months from date of issue. You can travel to the US any time from receipt of the visa until it expires. Once you land in the US, the CBP officer at the PoE will process your paperwork packet and eventually you'll receive your actual GC.
