Hi, folks.

Perhaps you may help me with the situation I am into. I sent my documents yesterdia via USPS (express mail) and it was supposed to be delivered today by noon. However, I track it online and here is the message I have from USPS:

"We attempted to deliver your item at 11:12 am on February 22, 2012 in DALLAS, TX 75266 and a notice was left because an authorized recipient was not available. You may arrange redelivery by visiting .... or calling 800-ASK-USPS, or may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice. If this item is unclaimed after five days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later."

Apparently it is back to the post office. What should I do ?

You've sent the mail to the wrong address! The Dallas lock box is used only for regular USPS. Check the "n-400instr.pdf" for the correct address.

For Express Mail or courier deliveries, use the following address:

USCIS
Attn: N-400
2501 S State Hwy 121 Business
Suite 400
Lewisville, TX 75067

Check it again this evening and tomorrow morning and it will say DELIVERED. That "notice left" message is what often happens when you send to USCIS via priority mail or express mail, then it changes to delivered later in the day or the next day.

Thanks. This is what I was adviced by the woman working in the post office where I sent the package. She advised me not to change anything, just to wait until tomorrow morning. The reason that happened is because it is bad explained (IMO) in the instructions:

USCIS Lockbox Facility
USCIS
P.O. Box 660060
Dallas, TX 75266

Private Courier (non-USPS)
Deliveries:
USCIS
Attention: N-400
2501 S. State Hwy 121 Business
Suite 400
Lewisville, TX 75067

The way it is shows all USPS go to the TX 75266. They do not specify anything about express or priority mail. Anyways !

Will this error delay the whole naturalization process ? I mean, I apparently sent the doxuments in Dallas, not in Lewisville, does it mean they process them on two different locations or just collect the packages and send them to one location ?

You sent it to the right address, Dallas lockbox via USPS. kim_gong may be wrong. FedEX, UPS, DHL are private couriers and should be sent to the Lewisville address. Your mistake may have been requesting signature confirmation or something like that, when the lockbox is an unattended post office box. Just relax and wait a day. Next time use USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation and it will get there in 2 days for less money. :)

It is delivered. I just checked online. Still don't know why this confusion happened. I believe I sent it the right address. If not, hope that won't delay the process.
