Hello friends,

Sorry to post this here. I went to the PA DMV today to renew my licence with all the required documents that is, I-485 receipt notice, EAD, Passport. But they did not renew my licence stating that they will send all the information to INS (I think USCIS) then I will be getting a letter from INS (USCIS) stating that how to proceed..is this a new rule??? I checked the PA DMV website and all they are requesting for is I485 receipt notice and passport. Any body in similar situation??

Which location in PA did you go to????
Different locations different people different interpretations.
You always have to ask to speak to the supervisor when your not happy with the clerks answer. Had a similar experience with my daughter at the Harrisburg office. You go in, tyhinking you have all the paperwork, then one person tells you you need more papers, you leave and go get the paperwork, when you come back somebody else helps you and demand other papers. I got so frustrated and ask to speak to the supervisor. All of a sudden after the clerk talk to the supervisor explaining what is going on everything was OK. This was regarding a DL for an H4 , not sure what the rules are for your situation.
One thing I can say do not believe everything those m*rons at the counter tell you.

It seems that there is a new pilot program called SAVE (Systematic Allien Verification of Entitelment) which is implemented in some of the DMV's. I went to the first DMV today morning and they rejected to give the licence, then went to another DMV. The second DMV was ready to issue the licence and when they checked the computer saw the rejection from first DMV and told they cannot help me. I should wait for some letter from the DMV stating what document I need to submit..I think I will have to talk to the congress man or the higer ups in DMV...Lot of hurdles to pass being an immigrant...what a world

I finally received the letter from PA DMV stating that I am eligibile for the product...Lesson learned -- apply for the DL renewal well in advance. So now onwards I have to dedicate time to do the paper work for EAD, DL..what not..killing more trees
