Hi Kris,

You have to ask PCee how he/she tabulated the data in
such a beautiful format, but take a look at an HTML
book and you will know the general idea on how to do
this.

PCee, if you are reading this, are you interested in
helping out CSC tracking webpage? Your tables are so
beautiful. :-) I did not notice your tables until
reading this thread by Kris.

How to post formatted summary...

Hi Kris,

It is very simple. As ciba wrote first you need to create a HTML document (tabulated), but this site uses some thing called "Web Crossing\'s Quick-Edit" (see help provided while posting a message in this site) that automatically formats your message to HTML document. Because of this you need to do very small changes to your HTML document before mailing it here.

First, you don\'t need to worry about how to create a brand new format for your July table. Just goto June thread, there I am always creating July table too. Just copy July table and paste it into any editor that supports HTML editing. I used Microsoft Word (when opened a new document as a web page). After that editing is as usual -insert rows modify them etc.

Once you are done with editing view it as HTML source "View-HTML source" and copy all those HTML lines for the table (You don\'t need to copy lines for the header etc.) to a simple text editor and just join them to a single line (because the Quick-Edit on this site think that every new line character is a paragraph you may see many blank spaces if you won\'t join all the lines) and paste it into your posting on this site.

Good luck
- PCee

PS: You may not get it right first time, play with it couple of times and then you will understand what is going on...

ciba,

Thanks for the complement.

I visit CSC tracking webpage frequently, thanks a lot for maintaining that site. I alwasy wished if you carried exact dates rather than just month/Year. When AOS was taking years, day in the date didn\'t matter much but in the current scenerio (especially when notification is taking very long and AOS taking app. 6 months) I guess it helps a lot.

Let me say this -I know next to nothing about HTML formatting. I just saw help provided in this site about "quick-edit help" while posting a message, and based on that cooked up some thing (it may not be the optimum code to achieve it but I am sure it did the job) to achieve the desired format (I tried to keep it very simple i.e. in sync with other messages -font size etc. with no border lines etc.) I thought it fits well in the thread in this site.

As I wrote earlier apart from carrying day in the date, the CSC tracking list has every thing by all means, and it already looks beautiful and it is very well formatted.

Hi PCee,

I agree with you -- in current CSC processing, day/month/year
format seems necessary. I have debated this for quite a while.
When I started tracking in March 2000, the processing of I-485
was stagant due to INS headquarters\' policy of freezing all I-485.
Most case took more than two to three years. There was really
no need to include the exact date of a case if the processing
time was that long. Later I-485 freeze was lifted, things
started moving rather rapidly. By the time I realized the
seemingly importance of the exact date, it was too late to
change. I actually asked folks whether we should include the
exact ND, many of them said they were not "crazy" about it,
and the current format was sufficient.

Perhaps in the future, we could improve this. Thanks for
maintaing such a pretty tracking list. I am sure many folks
have benefited from your contributions.
