Overseas assignment and citizenship?

My boss is talking about possible overseas assignment. I'm wondering if that will affect future naturalization. Background:

1. It's a big multi-national company with research facilities around the world.
2. I may be sent to a new research facility outside US. My boss said that organizationally I still belonged to the US facility.
3. The assignment can be 2 years.
4. I have been in US for over 18 moths after becoming PR.

I went through INS website. It seems that such a overseas assignment won't affect natualization. But I still like to get confirmed by those with similiar experience.

Thanks.

pentium3: I think you break your continuity. You'd better to get a re-entry permit. The except case is for those working for peace corp or embassy or consulate.
In my view, losing 18 months is not a big deal. in return, you will get lots of good exposure from your overseas assignment. Especially designing pentium10 in India or China :) I would go if I were you. One of the year overseas could be countted towards 5 year.
