Overlapping period of work in two companies

Hi all,

I submitted the documents for transfer from one company to the other recently and I am waiting for the approval. The first company wanted me to work one more week to wrap up the project and I was paid by both companies for that one week. Please advice, is that OK?

By document I assume you mean H1B transfer, right? In that case you are good. H1 transfer is a misnomer and each petiton is actually a new H1. Since AC21 allows you to work for the new employer on petition submission you may also work for the old employer until either your authorized employment with that employer lapses or the employer cancels your H1.
