Me and my family have GC, but we are outside US for 8 months. We Don't have REP.

In the next trip, we will fly to Vancouver as we plan to spend a few days in Whistler. My brother, who is also a GC holder will come there and we will take a short vacation in Whistler.

After that we will drive to Seattle, so we will enter US by road from Canada boarder.

1. Would we encounter any problem if we do so?
2. Do we need a visa to enter Canada when flying in from other country than US? We have GC.

You don't need a visa to visit Canada from anywhere in the world if you have US GC.

Regarding to return to the US after left the country for 8 month, it really depends on the POE officer. Strictly speaking, you have shown the intention of abadoning your permanent residency, but I've also seen people came through without problem.

Thanks. in that case, do you think it is better to fly in US or to cross the border by car? Is there any difference?
