Out-of-Status Question

New Member
I graduated from university and then applied for OPT and got it approved. I have used up my OPT and stayed more than the days allowed after the OPT gets expired. I want to get back to status. Can I apply for a program and get a new I-20 issued to me, or do I need to leave the country? Will my violation cause any problems when I'm leaving the country?
Any help would be appreciated,

I am not 100% sure about this.

But what I know is, as long as you dont' leave th country after your POT, you are fine.
After you receive your new I-20 from new school, your new school can transfer your record to your new school.
So....I think you might get in some issue here, if you leave th country before you receive your new I-20 from new school.
