Dear friends,

Here is our DV 2006 ASO experience in a nutshell,

MAY 2005 - received congratulations letter from KCC AS70xxx( dated April 28) – to my girl friend who lived in my home country, well ………..I was in USA with F1 and we already planed to marry in JULY and she planed to come here as F2 visa. So… lots of questions???

Are we going to marry before sending the papers to KCC?
Can she apply for F2 visa since she won the DV 2006?

If she reject non immigrant visa how she can get in to US? Am I going back to country for the DV visa interview …. 10000000 of questions. Well we try to get different information brows through different websites forum luckily found some interesting and helpful people ..

Useful forums and web sites

http://www.immigrationportal.com/ , http://www.eskimo.com/ ,http://www.skyweb.net , http://www.uscis.gov/ http://www.clalar.dk/dv-lottery

3. Did a lot of research on CP and ASO cases and DV numbers on past years … try to predict when our # will be current?

4. Finally decide to go to my home country and marry and come with my wife here and try to do ASO.

Since my non immigrant visa was expired I had to go for the visa interview.. so I apply non immigrant visa day before I leave from USA and gave home country FAX # and I got a appointment for visa after 5 days of my arrival to my home country yes it is before the marriage.

I got non immigrant visa for another 5 years without any problem didn’t ask many questions.

After marriage my wife apply for non immigrant visa and she got it
We didn’t mention anything about DV and they didn’t ask either.

Then both came to US and we went to local USCIS office with info pass (2005 AUG) and show all the document and ask whether can we apply for ASO?

Immigration officer was a lady and she gave us documents and ask to wait till October and ask send the documents with money order to the Chicago.
Well that was in August 2005

In end of the August send Fee of $375 X 2 paid to DOS

Send the application back to KCC indicating our decision to do ASO. Fill KCC documents for my wife as well as for me - most of them said it was not needed but we filled.
After week we got a receipt for DOS fee.
Surpassingly, KCC send the 2nd letter to my wife’s home address back in my home country.. We were excited and called to KCC and ask to change our address. We enter our US address in all document but they didn’t enter it to the system Hm,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
In October visa bulletin make us frustrated.. Numbers was AS 1000 which is the lowest in the history how ever we thought if we are suitable to get this we will, otherwise will have to go for other options.. It’s not simple but that the reality
Check available data’s in USCIS web site and other discussion boards and wait till December numbers are moving very slowly
Even our first immigration officer told us to apply in October we didn’t because there were doubt when to apply some apply well before number current and some before week or two ( 900 days max) so we are lost …… cannot think what to do…
Another info pass appointment to USCIS – they ask to wait for the number to be current …. hMMMMMMM aging confusion..
Anyway we did medical in Feb. my wife was positive for TB skin test but negative chest X ray
Relief…………….. Collect medicals... All documents in sealed envelops??
Ask for our copy but they said that they are also in the sealed envelops.
But gave another copies in another sealed envelop.. We opened second one and kept applicant copies if required.
Visa bulletin showed the # moving so slow half way abandon the idea
But hop for the best
Gradually DV numbers reach to 6000. So we feel that we are closer however it increased only by 750- 650 per month.
April 2006 5th we send the documents to Chicago lock box.
April 2006 7th USPS delivered
April 2006 11th 2006 First notice
Apr 17 2006 Second notice for biometrics and FP
April 20 another notice for biometrics and FP
Apr 24 2006 FP and Biometrics
Inform about the second biometric letters and they took second biometric and FP notice and said it was not necessary to come again.
June visa bulletin advance notification – our # current in July
June 26 EAD received
July 5 th INFO pass and request about case statues and they inform it will with thin 3 weeks time
With in 7 days got a letter for interview

July 19 th interview - pass port stamped and inform that will get GC with in 2 months time

We have prepared all the documents A- Z
Went to the office 20 min before the schedule time
Around 9.10 one officer calls our names and while entering to his office he introduce as and ask to rise right hands and took a oath. Officer was very helpful and friendly first ask for birth certificate and I-94 and ask several questions from i-485. ask for a any document to show we still married we didn’t have any documents except marriage certificate then he ask whether we have any tax filing documents fortunately we had he was satisfy with that and he say we and verify our signatures then he said that T Congratulation!! I have approved your case and he stamped both pass ports and he made some correction of parents names on the computer while he is doing all he talk about the US and day to day life and many things it was a nice time with him no stress at all he act as a friend finally he took our I-94 and EAD card and took the photocopy of the stamped page of our pass port.
It took only 20 min to finish all the work
That’s it .we are waiting for GC cards.

NOTE:
