Can you post you details. Have you recd 2nd FP notice yet? Are you EB2 or Eb3. My case is also RD Nov 22, 2002

I haven't got 2nd FP yet.Mine is EB2.The message still says the same thing (finger print received on 12/18/02 Ie my 1st FP). I came about the portfolio thing couple of weeks back and created my own logon. I saw the Lud was 12/18/2002 until yesterday. today the lud changed but the message remains same. what does it mean?. Are they going to send me 2nd FP or RFE?

I hope it is 2FP

I hope for you that it is 2FP notice. Let us start a thread for "2FP Nov/Dec 2002".

Dude, NO ONE other than INS knows the theory behind touch dates. We have all tried but failed to understand it. Please check in the past threads to see if you can come up with a logic. Enough people have posted messages about the LUD being updated. Unfortunately there is no pattern. By asking the same question again and again is not going to garner any new answers.

It is changed again!!!. Now the LUD is 07/02/2004.What's going on!!!
If your FP already expired, you may get 2nd FP. I guess last update changes before issuing 2nd FP. It may or may not true. In my case it was 04/07/04. I did not know what was earlier date before creating portfolio but after portfolio I found that date. I got 2nd FP notice and did Finger Printing last month. It is hard to correlat the updated date with 2nd FP Notice. As many people on this forum said, it has no meaning unless you see change in your case status.

Note on "Last Updated" date: (as per USCIS website)

Your case may have a new "Last Updated" date and you may receive an Email Notification of your case being updated, without the status of the case changing. This is due to internal USCIS processing being performed on your Case. This will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date, but may not result in a different status message.

Can you throw some light on "Internal Processing". It is hard to understand the internal process.

Let's hope it doesn't mean "shredding case files" like that one guy at the USCIS did in 2002 to do his part to alleviate the backlog...

Actually, on a more helpful note, internal processing can mean a number of things. Check out this PDF, especially Section 10.3, General Adjudication Procedures. It talks about the various security and other checks that take place on a case. After each one, stamping and stuff occurs, which I presume means "internal processing":

Thanks for the link. No wonder, multistep adjudication procedure taking long time but surprisingly it is taking too long to process the cases.
