Other names used question

Hi all,

I would appreciate some responses to this question:

My passport had the following name:

<P****> <A***********>

My green card and every other document in the US has the following:

<A***********> <P****>

In other words, the reverse order of last and first name. The one used on the passport is actually incorrect and the issuing office corrected it on my new renewed passport to reflect the correct name as:

<A***********> <P****>

The question now is: I didn't indicate anything on the "Other Names Used" question. Should I do it now (my application is pending)? Since the name was
corrected in the new passport, should I bother? Can I explain this at the time of the interview?

On another related question, my Birth Certificate says my name is

<A>. <P****> in otther words, only first initial and last name. Should I have mentioned this in the other names used? If I do it now, will delay the processing of my case further due to additional name checks?

Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated.

should this create difficulty at the time of the interview?

You should be fine. Your birth certificate is not relevant here for Naturalization purposes. Your Nat certificate will have A*** P*** as your name.
Your situation is not a "different name" one and you should be OK.

I would not say that based on my exp. In my case, birth certificate was the only document that was used by IO for deciding name on cert. GC, passport, driver license etc did not matter. Name on BC was what appered on Nat Cert.

Thanks. Regarding the question of swapped last name and first name on the passport (which has since been corrected), should I report that as an "other name used"? It is not a different (or new) name but a name correction.
