what do YOU think ???
my wife likes to call me "Honey", should i put that on the N-400 ? :D

List only your legal names which you e.g. received by birth, marriage, legal name change etc. Everything else is not relevant. Alex

I'm sorry if I confused you . I did put my legal name in application but in the column other names used, I put the name which i'm using on my bussiness cards, because I'm in sales and it's easy to remember and pronounce. So I was being honest. Yes, I used that name but offcourse that's not my legal name my clients knows me with my nick name (Americanized name) if I did not disclosed to USCIS and they find out that I'm using different name that could be lie and don't you think I had another problem, but anyway if disclosing of using other name like in my case was not necessary and I did it .I'm asking for what's a solution, should I make a infopass and ask them if that is right or wrong because if they're doing name check on that name they will never find anything so I have to wait God knows till when.
I hope I'm able to explain it more clearely.

JoeF,ocworker thanks for your prompt reply i just talk to a Immigration Lawyer and he told me it was not neccessary to put your bussiness neme as he also calls me by my nick name, but it's not a problem because they knows you still using that nick name it was not like maiden name or before marriage kind of stuff. More in the application I put my e-mail as nickname@adelphia.net.
Thanks a lot for taking time to answer my question in a serious way but not putting smiliyes.this forum is alive because of people like you , because people knows some good person will answer their questions.

Jattin, bottom line is, if you already send your application, your simplified 'other' name does not hurt you in any way.

My guess is it would also be obvious what your intend was when somebody reads your legal ('strange') name and the 'Al' replacement.

Either way, mentioning this may make an easily entertained adjudication officer rather smile because he may also think of 'Hoeny' or 'Hubby' but in no way it would cause you trouble.

If you haven't send your N400 yet, you know what to do.

Alex
