Hello folks,

Did anybody hear this? It is a horrible event never happened in Asian community in US. A father was raped his 2 year old daughter. I am true it happened. Unbelievable… is not it? You know what happened the rapist was set for a high cash bail for $250,000 and he paid that money and out now. The poor lady does not have any support in US sits in a mental hospital waiting for some body to help out. There are some organizations to help out initially but only sits in statements and no progress in work. I called the organizations to find the updates and there were no updates with them. I wanted to offer my little help for the poor girl. But I want few suggestions on this.

1) Does it affect my GC process?
2) Who is the concerned authorized person to get the updates and facts?
3) Is there any community organization like TANA etc. to help her out?

Any suggestions and comments are welcome.

Thanks,
TB

1. Why would it affect your GC process unless you were the father?
2. I would imagine the best way you can get in touch with the people is to contact the reporter who wrote that story and ask for details.
3. I am sure there are numerous organizations to help out battered/abused kids/wifes. You might want to search on www.google.com

Just a friendly word of advice, you might want to wait till there are futher developments before pitching in wholeheartedly. Wait for a medical report to prove or disprove the mother's claim. While you are waiting you could contact DSS and check if there is anything you can do for the child. Regardless of who is at fault here, she is the one who is the injured party.

Good luck.

gcthunder,

Your noble thoughts are appreciable. But the reality is the lady tried to kill the baby. Would you want the lady to have the custody of the child before making sure what really happened? It is very unfortunate that the baby had to undergo such an ordeal. In any case, it did not deserve to die. The victim here is the baby not the mother. I realize from the news bits that the baby is in good care. I think that it is best for the child for the time being.

Just my 2 cents worth.

hi SGM and 140_takes_for_ever,

Thanks for your pointers. I agree the fact the baby is the victim. But what the shocked mother could have done in that scenario. I will try to get more information.

Thanks,

I know a non profit organization out of Georgia which works specially for the victims of doemstic violence in the Asian community. It is www.raksha.org

There are MANY things the mother could have done before slashing her wrists, the first of which would be to NOT further traumatize the child. It wasn't the child's fault what happened, and now instead of having atleast one loving parent, the child has NONE!

But that is an ethical and hypothetical situation since what is done is done. But I suggest you find out the truth behind the matter before getting involved.

I for one, find it difficult to believe that a father could do that to a 2 year old child, not to say it doesn't happen or it can't, but it is abhorrent. If true the father needs to be shot! But in case the father is innocent, the mother should definitely be checked into a mental asylum because she needs some serious help.
