original or courtesy copy of I-485 approval notice?

After a long wait we finally got our I-485 approval notice in the mail. It is the courtesy copy. The original copy was sent to my lawyer in another city. On the notice it states that I can bring the courtesy copy for passport stamping, however, I heard from my friends that they were asked for the original copy of the approval notice when they went to stamp the passport.

Is original copy necessary if I only have the courtesy copy? Thanks in advance for any help.

I got it stamped with the Courtesy Copy. Dont forget to take your unexpired EAD's and AP's.
