It depends upon how smart you are as far as work is concerned. If you are strong enough technically you will get job for sure.

Many of the best jobs are in positions where you must be a US citizen to apply. A lot of things have been sent to other countries such as India. There are a lot of developers looking for jobs, many of them ex Oracle employees so it is often a hard thing to get your first job in any major/popular city to live in. If you want to live in some remote place than your chances will improve.

this kind of jobs got outsourced massively from US to India ..so try India for a job in your profession

When you look for a job is you live is a highly populated area like NYC or LA you may have 500 or more people apply for the same job. If the same job is posted in a place that isn't as nice like Needles Ca ( summer temp is hotter than the deserts of Africa ) then you may get 5 people at most applyinf for that job. The job will pay less, but your house will cost 1/3 of what the same place is in LA or NYC.

Now that's useful information
Thanks,

if I were you ..I would never bother to emigrate to USA..you already work in your profession .;here is the crisis which is gonna last for decades ..so finding a job ..ANY KIND OF JOB would be a very looooooooooong PROSPECT

Sorry to hear that, I think if all the immigrants tell about their experience in the U.S may be it will give all those who want to left all their life's and families a clue of what expecting them there.

There are cycles of good times and not so good times in the USA This is one of the worse cycles I can remember. Other countries are catching if not passing the US in development. You must know that living here is not a bed of roses. Some will get lucky and find work right away and others may go a year or more with no work or take a small job to survivie. My hisband ( an engineer ) just took a security job because there is no civil engineer work in southern California at the moment. Working with him is a medical doctor that is also not employed in his field.
