Hello,
I was born in India but have European citizenship. I hold a master's degree in STEM from a prestigious European college and have three years of work experience in medical-AI area. In Nov 2021, my mother filed a Family-sponsored F2B application for me, which was received by the California service center. Unfortunately, in Dec 2021, my father passed away, leaving me alone in Europe. Eventually, in January 2023, I came to the US on an H1B visa, while my mother obtained US citizenship and relocated to a new city. We have not yet changed anything in the filed application, Can someone please inform me about the available options to obtain a green card soon ?

You are automatically in F1 category now, though you have the option of opting out back into F2B. According to the latest visa bulletin, visa numbers are now available for F1 filed before Dec 2014 or F2B filed before Sep 2015, so it is still a few years away either way. You are still unmarried, right?

You can also try to see if an employer will petition you for employment-based immigration.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm still unmarried. Although I'm working here on H1b but I can see that there are very good opportunities available in Medical AI/ML area where I can contribute to a great cause. But due to not having GC, I'm not able to get those opportunities.

My current employer may get ready to file the petition for me, but I realized that also has a long waiting list. Do you suggest me to contact an attorney to find out any other way to get or speed up the GC process? Thanks,
