opt to h1 visa , stuck in security check

Hello All,
I am having problem with opt to h1 visa.

Actually i applied for h1b visa on april 23 rd 2006. I got reciept number so early. But it stuck in security check. my opt expired in october 2006.

Now, i am out of status. and i am not working for past 3 months waiting to clear out the security check.

Do u guys know, how long does it take to clear the security checks.

Is there any other alternatives to proceed in my case.

Please reply me , if u have any information on this issue.

I am wondering what sorts of a secuirty check are they doing. did you give you finger prtins. If so then maybe but usually while in US, they dont do security check. this is the first I am hearing.
