Hi all,
I have a friend who has just gotten engaged and is looking to get married within the next 6 months. He is a US citizen and the spouse to be is currently on OPT, but expects to get H1 by the end of October.
The question at this stage is should she go to India or Canada to get the stamping done?
They plan on getting married in India and then coming back to the US on their respective status (US Citizen and H1). Is this advisable? Is this going to cause any issues with when they come back and file the change of status forms?
The other scenario (pessimistic point of view) is what should they do to get married in case she does not get her H1? In that case is it better to do DCF or Fiance Visa? They plan on getting married in India only due to family issues.
Please advise as to what you think are better options for the above mentioned scenarios.
Thank you.
