My OPT is expiring on Jan 9, 2006. As I am on OPT and legally can work in US, I need not pay any social security and other associated taxes. If I change to H1, I cannot have these benefits. Is it possible that I can file H1 and mention starting date for H1 as it is the case for OPT where I can mention the starting date for OPT. Any info regarding this will be greatly appreicated.
