OPT to H1-B to visa stamping

Fellas,

I have a question about "a" day when I will be out of status in the US before my H1-B starts - October 1st, and after my OPT expired - July 31st.

You get 60 days grace period, which in my case would be until September 29th. Now, do I really need to be on status for that one day September 30th, as my H1-B is approved with I-94 and the same starts October 1st.

I spoke to couple of attorneys, and one said there is no need and the other asking me to get on F-1 status and withdraw from the course. But what good is latter going to do to me when if I withdrew, the i-20 will be voided.

Will that affect my visa stamping if I don't take any class on september 30th, as I am an Indian citizen and planning to go to Nepal for stamping this december.

Appreciate in advance.

Yes. You need to be in status in that period. You can take some credits and maintain your F-1 status until your H-1B approval duration kicks in.
