OPT question

hello!

I applied for OPT on April 11th, 2005, but my Internation Student Advisor mentioned OPT start date as May 23, 2005 on the new I20 form i was issued.Also, my employer has applied for my H1B , last thrusday.

I have received OPT receipt but not the OPT card uptil now.

Can I join a company on May 27, 2005 without the OPT card.

Hi,

Since your OPT start date is May 23rd you can start on May 27th, even if you dont get the card till then, which you probably will.. The receipt shd mention your start date. Why dont you check with your International Student Advisor?
