I am in the process of applying for I-485, EAD and AP for myself and for my wife. I am not sure when I would get EAD thru this process. Currently, my wife is on F-1. She has to graduate in March. She can apply for an OPT (practical training) as she is on F-1. IS this OPT same as EAD? can she apply for OPT using her F1 if she already has a EAD application pending thru my I-485 process. The only reason for which we are considering appying for OPT is because she has to graduate in march and that we may not get EAD (thru my I-485) in time by March. Another question is can there be any gap between graduation and OPT or EAD start date? will that be considered as Out of Status? any thoughts?
