OPT, F1 urgent

I graduated in May from a university where I was on F1 status.
My I-20 and F1 have not expired.
I would like to do research in a lab in this university for a year more, but I did not request an OPT before graduation.
is there anyway that I can obtain an OPT now?
or is there any other way that I can still do research?
please reply urgently as I will have to leave to my home country soon otherwise.
 
i believe you have up to 60 or 90 days after graduation to apply for the OPT. Either way, you're still fine ..its stil the beginning of June..apply for it right away..
