OPT F1 to B1/B2

Hi. I've been in F1 visa with OPT but my OPT just expired on Sep 30, 06. I have 60 day grace period to stay in the country. However, I plan to leave US around Jan or Feb 07. My question is:
1) Since I already have B1/B2 visa, I plan to leave the country and go to Canada for a few days and come back with B1/B2 visa to extend my stay until Jan 07. Can I do that?
2) Do I need to do anything further than that? such as inform USCIS about leaving the country or else? Or can I just leave and come back with another visa?

Another question is that if I don't go out of the country and come in again with B1/B2 visa, but I just continue staying with expired OPT until Jan or Feb 07. What would be the effect of this action? Will my tourist visa get cancelled or I get denied when I try to enter USA again?
