OPT extension - H1B application is pending

Hi
My H1b application is current pending with USCIS. My OPT (non STEM) will expired in the middle of May. Am I elligible for automatic extension. I have email USCIS with the change of status request but I am kinda worry about my status.
Any advices ?

I read in this forum about 60 day grace period on OPT. Perhaps this will help. When is the intended start date? If that's immediate then why not apply for premium processing?
 
The April 2008 rules created a relief for F-1 holders in your situation. You can continue working on EAD for as long as either i) your H-1B petition remains pending or ii) your H-1B petition is denied, or iii) October 1.
