OPT expiring, MS incomplete, suggestions

Hello,

I would like to seek your suggestions. My OPT is expiring in December. I have completed my Masters coursework but not my thesis. I have been engaged in job search but I was neither able to find one nor devote time to finish my thesis. Since I haven't applied for a Ph.D admission, if I request the international students office at my university, will they reissue an I-20 to maintain student status for one more semester? I ask this question here as it's the thanksgiving holiday and the university office doesn't open until the first week of December.

I assume you are in F-1 status and chose to obtain OPT during school instead of after graduation (bad choice). However, you have a 60 day grace period after your F-1 status is over. If you have not submitted your thesis, then you have NOT finished your course of study. The 60 day grace period should start on the official closing date of the semester OR on the date in which you submit your thesis or final dissertation. When does your current I-20 expire>?
