OPT: Approved; Work before card received?

Hi, I am Pre-OPT right now, but the expired date for my card is Aug 8th.

This morning, my Post-OPT had been approved, and status now is "CARD ORDERED". I think it will take about 12 day before I receive my EAD.

My question, can I work before I receive my EAD? Since the effective date on my new card will be today. Last time Jun 11, they approved my card and Jun 26 I received the Pre-OPT EAD card. The effective date is Jun 11.

Any suggestion? If I cannot have my card on time, my employment will be terminated.

Thanks!! Waiting for Suggestion.

Is it possible to ask USCIS for a document or something to prove the effective date for my new EAD card?

If I am terminated, all the project in my hand will be stop, that will be another headache for my boss. So for now he want me to find a way to prove my effective date, and he will talk to HR and International office.

I am trying to call USCIS........

I called the immigration office this morning. They said I need to wait for my card, and that is the only thing I can do.
Now, just to wait, or go to LA for vacation~~

Good luck to all you guys!!
