opinoin regarding going to part time grad school

Hi,
I am a second year resident on a H1 visa.My problem is that i came on a F1 visa and i could not complete my grad school.I want to finish my grad school in presummer session[4 weeks] by taking a leave of absence and my vacation days.Is it legally admissible under H1 visa.please guide me in this regard.Thanks.

If your program allows it, an paid/unpaid leave of absence should not be a problem with the H1B visa since you will tecnnically still be an employee. I believe taking educational courses on an H1B is OK.

However your residency might end up needing to be extended towards the end because of your leave and that will probably require extending your H1B.

Using vacation time is totally up to you, and if you can get vacation time for the entire time period, you wouldn't need to extend residency.
